Start of construction of the new primary school 2023
In November 2023, the town of Říčany started the construction of a new building for the 1st Primary School on Komenského náměstí, which will cost CZK 701 million including VAT (planned capacity is 540 pupils). The construction should be completed by November 2025. According to the project, the new school building will include eighteen classrooms, specialist classrooms, a canteen and a modern kitchen. Another connected building will house a gymnasium, including an outdoor sports field. Transport infrastructure near the school and a public park are also being developed. The passive energy building will be heated by heat pumps. We will install photovoltaic panels on the green roofs of the school and gymnasium to generate electricity.
Skatepark opening 2023
The skatepark is part of the first stage of the Industrial Park for Teenagers, which won the citizens’ vote in the participatory budget Surprise Říčany. You will find it at the end of the footpath from Rondel (below Tesco). Many thanks to BILLA, which contributed CZK 1.5 million to the skatepark.

Opening of MARVÁNK 2022
The Marvánk revitalisation project was launched in January 2022 and completed in June of the same year. We repaired the beaten paths. Thanks to the clay surface, they will retain their natural character and will be safe for small children and the elderly. In some parts, the pavements are lined with massive wooden logs, which serve not only for paving but also for seating. We added benches and baskets. A completely new entrance portal, a large wooden pier (60 m²) and two smaller pontoon piers were built. The car park was completely renovated and new parking spaces were created. The Řípská access road was resurfaced with asphalt and the sewer line was extended to connect other buildings, including the restaurant. We repaired the parking lot and part of Řípská Street.

Opening of the underpass under the line 2022
The town of Říčany restored the underpass under the busy railway line Prague – Benešov. Historically, a stone underpass was located in the same places. As part of the modernisation of IV. railway corridor in 2007, a concrete tube was built in these places, but it was never cleared. In Barákova Street, the door was locked and the wall ended on the other side. “This project took many years to prepare. Very complicated ownership relations and the proximity of the railway caused several years of permitting the project,” says David Michalička, Mayor of Řičany (Klidne město). “I am very happy that we managed to get significant financial support from the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure.

Cycle route to Prague by bike 2020
At the end of April 2020, work on the new cycle path in Říčany will be completed. After several years of hard work, the project called To Prague on a Bike is coming to a successful end. The entire cycling route to Prague by bike is almost fourteen kilometres long. It starts at the edge of the capital city of Prague, in the Kolovraty district of Prague, runs through the centre of Říčany, Světice, passes marginally through the area of Strančice and continues through Všestary to Mnichovice. Here it ends at the sports grounds near the town centre. In the territory of Říčany, there is a total of 5.7 km of continuous cycling route.
Part of the route – especially in the countryside outside the development – is built as a completely new path. This is the case, for example, of the section from the Mill Pond along the Říčanský Brook to the wastewater treatment plant. Other parts run along the original roads, which have been widened and resurfaced – e.g. U Studánky Street, or from the ice rink to Marvánek. Then there are several sections where it was not possible to separate the cycling traffic, so the route runs along existing streets. However, these are only short sections.
