Are you looking for a museum where you can try things out? Exhibitions where you can, for example, make a constellation projector, build a castle, learn how to work with wood, try medieval cuisine, make a bat, touch a meteorite, embroider a picture, understand trees or visit the heart of the Earth – this is our museum in Rydl Street!
We have a variety of exhibitions on different themes, handicraft workshops, clubs, educational programmes for schools and kindergartens, inspirational events for adults and families with children and workshops for teachers.
When you’re ready for some fresh air, you can climb into the giant bird’s nest in the treetops in the museum garden, visit the insect hotel or the birds in our aviary, and explore how water behaves in the landscape.
Geopark Říčany
Are you eating rocks? Or are you just looking for a place where the kids will have so much fun that they won’t want to go home, and learn something new? Then you must visit our geopark too! It is open from April to October, and in addition to intensive teaching for schools, kindergartens and teachers, we organize many events for the public.
Here you can try your hand at panning for real Czech garnets, unearthing fossils in the paleontological site or explore the cave system. In addition, the geopark’s laboratory offers the opportunity to cut, grind and polish stones during special events.
The Geopark can also be enjoyed privately – it can be booked for a birthday party or team building event.
At the entrance door to the geopark (Masarykovo náměstí 71) you will find a large Sun and information about it – the beginning of the Říčany Astro Trail.
Outdoor Exposition of the Courtyard
In the courtyard opposite the main museum building, community chickens and rabbits are raised and cared for according to welfare principles. Children who do not have the opportunity to have contact with farm animals can learn how to treat animals in a way that is not only useful but also satisfying.
Part of the Dvorek is a historical mini-exhibition, which presents the classical economy from the early 20th century. century. A shed with a shingle roof covers a 1929 farm wagon.
Říčanská hájovna
Hájovna in the middle of the woods between Říčany and Světice is a great place for stay programs for big and small and also for large public events like Earth Day.
